Based on the growth status of an ancient Sabina chinensis in Lianhua Temple, the current status and protection measures were analyzed. The tree was affected by its own physiological functions, external environment, and human factors, and there were safety hazards such as tilting of the tree body, partial damage to the trunk, and many holes. In terms of protection measures, reinforcement and support were the main focus, followed by the repair of tree holes and cracks. A monitoring and warning system was established to timely prevent natural disasters and pests such as wind, snow, lightning strikes, etc. At the same time, attention was paid to the protection of surrounding bamboo forests, and timely maintenance and management such as weeding, fertilization, and soil loosening were carried out to maintain the cleanliness of the forest environment. In terms of countermeasures and suggestions, it was necessary to assign responsibilities to individuals, raise special funds, and strengthen publicity. The purpose was to provide references for the protection of ancient tree.
