Research progress of plant lectins in agricultural disease and pest control and biomedical applications

凝集素是一种可识别特异碳水化合物的蛋白质,其抗各类病毒的功能及应用前景十分广阔,越来越受到重视。本文综述了植物凝集素在农业病虫害防治和生物医药学应用中的研究进展,涵盖其来源、分类以及在农业和医疗等领域的具体功能与应用。在农业病虫害防治方面,植物凝集素在抵抗害虫、病原真菌、细菌和病毒等方面发挥作用,并在植物促生长方面具有实际应用。在生物医药学方面,玉竹凝集素(POL)、槲寄生凝集素(ML)和伴刀豆凝集素A(Con A)在抗肿瘤活性研究取得新进展,在肿瘤早期诊断与治疗中具有潜在应用价值。为提升育种质量,实现稳产、增产和提质,以及促进抗肿瘤活性生物医药学研究提供参考。

Lectin is a protein that can recognize specific carbohydrates. Its ability to resist various viruses has broad application prospects and is increasingly being valued. The research progress of plant lectins in agricultural disease and pest control and biomedical applications were reviewed, covering their sources, classifications, and specific functions and applications in agriculture and medical fields. In the prevention and control of agricultural pests and diseases, plant lectins play a role in resisting pests, pathogenic fungi, bacteria, and viruses, and had practical applications in promoting plant growth. In the field of biomedicine, new progress had been made in the research of anti-tumor activity of Polygonatum odoratum lectin(POL), Mistletoe lectin(ML), and Concanavalin A(Con A), which had potential application value in early diagnosis and treatment of tumors. This insights gained from this review aim to improve the quality of breeding, achieve stable production, increased yield, and improve quality, as well as to provide references for promoting anti-tumor activity in biomedical research.
