Exploration of practical teaching reform in General Entomology course in higher agricultural colleges

The teaching status of General Entomology course was analyzed in three aspects: specimen types, teaching content, and teaching depth. The practical teaching reform measures aimed at improving students’ practical abilities were explored and analyzed. By fully utilizing modern information technology and building an online insect specimen museum as a foundation, a teaching specimen resource sharing platform would be established, strengthening team building, optimizing teacher allocation and other measures had increased students’ interest in learning and enhanced their ability to learn independently. An analysis of the effectiveness of the practical teaching reform in this course shown that it was conducive to cultivating students’ hands-on abilities, enabling them to combine theory with practice and enhance their practical skills. To provide references for cultivating high-quality talents who meet social needs, possess innovative thinking and practical abilities.
