Exploration of the reform of the evaluation system for Comprehensive Experimental in Horticulture course

To cultivate students’ practical and innovative abilities, the important practical course Comprehensive Experiment in Horticulture was taken as an example, the evaluation system had been reformed from three aspects: teaching content, teaching methods, and assessment methods. The teaching content in this evaluation system covered professional knowledge such as flower, fruit tree, vegetable cultivation and breeding. Through basic and innovative experiments, the goal of connecting theory with practice was achieved. Increased process assessments before, during, and after class, with students as the main body, focusing on their mastery of the entire experimental process. The practical effect showed that the implementation of the course evaluation system had enhanced students’ ability to master professional theories and improved their practical skills. This provided effective references for the cultivation of applied Horticultural majors.
