Management techniques for Zanthoxylum bungeanum planting in Southwest Shandong Province

Based on the planting practice of Zanthoxylum bungeanum in Southwestern Shandong Province, the high-yield planting and management techniques of Zanthoxylum bungeanum in the region were summarized and analyzed. The seeds of the mother tree of Zanthoxylum bungeanum were selected from 6-10 years old and entered the full fruiting stage, and were dried and disinfected, and then cultivated by nursery or cutting. In winter and spring, when the temperature and soil conditions were suitable, the grafting seedlings with good growth and soil transplanting were selected, after transplanting, according to the growth of saplings, timely management such as fixed rod, watering and so on. During the growth process, pay attention to the pruning of young trees, rich trees and old trees, timely water and fertilizer management and pest control, reasonable intercropping of cash crops to improve land and fertilizer utilization efficiency. The relevant planting experience and technology provide references for further improving the yield, quality and economic benefits of Zanthoxylum bungeanum.
