Intercropping cultivation techniques between ginger and soybean

This article summarized the key points of intercropping cultivation techniques for ginger and soybean. In terms of cultivation, high ridge mulching and 2∶1 row ratio intercropping (2 rows of ginger and 1 row of soybean intercropping) are adopted. Sowing is done in mid to early April, soybeans are harvested in early August, and ginger is harvested in late October. Before sowing, deep winter plowing (25-35 cm) should be carried out and decomposed organic fertilizer (75 000-90 000 kg/hm2) should be applied. Compound fertilizer, Bacillus subtilis, and boron fertilizer should be applied in the sowing ditch; ginger seeds are dried, disinfected with potassium permanganate, temperature controlled to promote germination, and refined before being cut into pieces and dipped in plant ash for sowing; after sun drying soybean seeds, mix them with pesticides such as pyriproxyfen and thiacloprid. After sowing, lay drip irrigation tape, spray dimethoxystrobin + oxyfluazuron for closed weed control and film covering. Field management includes breaking the film, removing the film in late June, and three rounds of soil cultivation to achieve “ridge and ditch transformation”. Differentiated water and fertilizer management is carried out according to the growth period of ginger: high nitrogen water-soluble fertilizer is applied during the seedling stage, balanced water-soluble fertilizer is applied during the vigorous growth period, and high potassium water-soluble fertilizer and potassium sulfate are added after the beginning of autumn to maintain a relative soil moisture content of 75% to 85%; during the soybean seedling stage, the soil moisture content should be maintained at 70% to 80%, and water should be controlled after the plant height reaches 50-60 cm. The prevention and control of diseases and pests follows the principle of “prevention first, comprehensive prevention and control”, integrating agricultural prevention and control (rotation for more than 3 years, clearing of diseased plants, and spraying of quicklime), physical prevention and control (insecticidal lamps and insect traps), and chemical prevention and control (pyrazolyl or prochloraz spray to prevent anthrax and leaf spot; imidacloprid or acetamiprid to prevent thrips, aphids, etc.). After harvesting, ginger is brought into the cellar with soil, and fine sand is laid in layers inside the cellar, and the ventilation openings are covered with insect-proof nets. This article provides a reference for the promotion and application of ginger-soybean cultivation techniques.
