Current situation and countermeasures for the development of waste agricultural film recycling and utilization in Anqing City

This study analyzed the current status, key constraints of waste agricultural film recycling and utilization in Anqing City, and proposed targeted practical paths. In the study area in 2024, the agricultural film utilization volume and proportion remained low. Recycling technologies still need further development and exploration. The pollution control, recycling and disposal procedures, and management systems for agricultural film are yet to be further improved. In addition, farmers’ awareness of environmental protection needs to be deepened, and the actual effectiveness of publicity on agricultural film recycling requires further enhancement. At present, the recycling and utilization of waste agricultural films should focus on film application and popularization, recycling technologies, sales and recycling regulation, as well as farmers’ environmental awareness. Corresponding optimization measures were put forward. Divide suitable areas for thickened high-strength mulch films and fully biodegradable mulch films in a scientific manner, and promote the technology of multi-season or multi-year film reuse. Long-term field experiments covering different ecological zones and crop types should be established to explore the regional adaptability of high-strength thickened film and fully biodegradable film. Internet of Things technology can be applied to realize full-process supervision from production to field application, so as to improve the closed-loop recycling and resource utilization system of agricultural film. An online and offline integrated publicity system should be constructed to carry out customized training for large-scale growers and other agricultural operators. This study provides a scientific reference for improving the recycling and utilization efficiency level of agricultural film and facilitating high quality agricultural development.
